Erectile dysfunction is common among individuals with Parkinson's disease, but it is unknown whether it precedes the onset of the classic features of Parkinson's disease. To address this question, Gao et al. (2007) examined whether erectile dysfunction was associated with Parkinson's disease risk in the Health Professionals Follow-up Study.

PSA velocity more than 2 ng/ml is much more linked to prostate cancer specific mortality |

Despite the tremendous stage migration associated with prostate cancer screening to our knowledge it remains unproven whether prostate specific antigen (PSA) based screening decreases prostate cancer specific mortality. Recent studies have shown that PSA velocity more than 2 ng/ml per year in the year before diagnosis is associated with a significantly greater risk of prostate cancer specific mortality after treatment.

New biological markers: EAU highlights on prostate cancer

In the abstract session on oncology at the 23rd Annual EAU Congress held in Milan, a total of 559 abstracts were presented, with majority of the work, or more than 50% covering prostate cancer issues. Transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder and upper urinary tract and kidney cancer, ranked second and third, respectively, while testis cancer and penile cancers attracted 16 abstracts each.
